3. Adverting to the War Office letter enclosed in your letter under reply, I am to point out that the land referred to in para. 2 thereof has never been transferred to the War Department. It is merely Crown land subject to the provisions of the Ordinance referred to above. His Excellency is however prepared to recommend that it be included in a transfer of the area referred to in the first para. of this letter on the same conditions.
